Description

Paulownia, known for its rapid growth, offers significant environmental benefits. Its exceptional CO₂ absorption and oxygen production. Paulownia-derived products meet the high demand for biobased, CO₂-positive building materials. Additionally, Paulownia Cultures combines the Paulownia trees with fruit trees, enhances soil quality by efficiently absorbing nutrients and retaining moisture, preventing erosion and promoting rejuvenation. With a lifespan of 60 to 100 years and rapid regrowth after harvesting, Paulownia is a highly renewable resource. Incorporating Paulownia into business practices demonstrates environmental commitment. Its versatile applications in construction and furniture help reduce carbon emissions, aligning ecological and business interests.

About our carbon farmer

Eric Litjens, a farmer who transitioned from fruit production to producing local carbon and biobased products in combination with fruit trees, planted 15 hectares of Paulownia, creating the largest Paulownia forest in the Netherlands. Together with Paulownia Netwerk, he is expanding the Dutch market to offer farmers an alternative income model. This initiative focuses on sustainability, ecological benefits, and local production of biobased products.
