Holistic reduction strategy

We encourage our buyers to integrate their credit purchases into a holistic reduction strategy. This involves meticulous tracking, reduction, avoidance, and removal of emissions, aligning with scientifically-backed net-zero goals in accordance with the Paris Agreement. At Scature, we exclusively engage with removal credits rather than offset (compensation) credits.

Value chain and Scope 3 Optimization

Our portfolio is tailored to your strategic goals, aligning with your vision and fostering collaboration with local carbon farmers. We also assess your value chain to identify opportunities to decarbonize and reduce your Scope 3 emissions. By making changes in your value chain using nature based solutions, your future scope 3 is reduced while you can clean up your residual emissions in scope 0,1 and 2.

Employee Engagement

Once the project is defined and certificates are received, we can engage your employees through workshops, presentations, and excursions with local carbon farmers, making the initiative tangible throughout your entire organization and value chain.

Company analysis

The goal is to first reduce, then remove carbon emissions. We begin by analyzing your carbon footprint (scope 0, 1, 2 and 3) from previous years to ensure you are actively reducing your emissions. We address the remaining emissions for the current year as well as historic emissions. By examining your industry, sustainability strategy, your mission and vision, and the residual emissions you need to remove, we provide a comprehensive approach to achieving your carbon reduction goals.

We assist in constructing your comprehensive glocal nature-based portfolio, prioritizing risk avoidance and integrating a blend of permanent removal methods along with initiatives to enhance biodiversity, water retention, and regeneration.

Tailored to your strategic goals and analyzing your value chain, we pinpoint opportunities for regenerative transformation within your company. We will suggest changes in your value chain aimed to reduce your future scope 3 emissions.

Step 2

Finding your local regenerative solution

We hook you up with local carbon farmers worldwide.

This means that we can find you a local carbon farmer and help them through a third party  CO2 accreditation process. This ensures that your carbon farmer is nearby, allowing you to establish a long standing and trustworthy relationship while the carbon removal project, and the addressed co benefits becomes more tangible.

We can implement this globally if you have additional offices around the world.

Step 3

Finding additional projects suitable for you

Depending on your company's objectives, we can find you additional projects in order to clean up your residual scope 0, 1, 2 and 3 emissions, spreading risks of having everything in one basket. Remember, all our projects are nature-based solutions and therefore will not only clean-up your CO2 emissions, but help scale biodiversity, increase water retention, improve the soil, as well as for other co benefits.

Step 4

Measurement, reporting & carbon removal certificates

When credits are purchased from existing carbon farmers within our current database, we can immediately generate the CO2 certificates for your company. For new carbon farmers, we guide them through the accreditation process, and once completed, certificates can be issued.

All our carbon farmers are ONCRA certified, which acts as a CO2 watchdog, ensuring the measurability and authenticity of the certificates.

Additionally, we will provide you with annual updates on the amount of CO2 actually stored, projected future storage, increased water retention, and increasingly biodiversity data.

These figures are valuable for your ESG and CSRD reporting requirements.

Step 5

Bottom up education to stakeholders

It's crucial for all stakeholders to understand the importance of your sustainability strategy and the benefits of purchasing nature-based carbon removal credits.

We prioritize employee engagement and retention by orchestrating immersive workshops, either at your carbon farmers' locations or in your office. These workshops illustrate the project's impact on sustainability, biodiversity, and other key areas, emphasizing the advantages of your initiatives.

Activities at the carbon farms actively involve and engage your employees, suppliers, clients, and other stakeholders. Typically, the experience commences with a presentation highlighting broader environmental challenges, followed by a tour with the carbon farmer. Hands-on activities then allow participants to contribute actively and witness the tangible results of their efforts. The day culminates with a sense of achievement and a profound understanding of the positive impact made.

This holistic approach not only strengthens your carbon removal endeavors but also cultivates employee engagement and retention throughout your entire value chain, underscoring the significance of your sustainability endeavors.

Examples of What is Possible

Png

Local Regenerative Farming Investment:

Organizations interested in offsetting their residual emissions can invest in certificates from local regenerative farmers. By doing so, they can also source fruits and vegetables from these farmers, which are richer in nutrients and healthier than supermarket alternatives. This keeps employees more vital and engaged in the regeneration process. Additionally, this investment allows organizations to build a genuine relationship with their local carbon farmer, fostering a deeper connection and commitment to sustainable practices. This dual approach of offsetting emissions and sourcing healthy produce demonstrates a commitment to both environmental and employee well-being.

Shipping Organization Collaboration:

Organizations involved in shipping can collaborate with climate entrepreneurs who grow kelp, a fast-growing seaweed, on bamboo rafts. When the seaweed is large enough, the raft sinks to the ocean floor, ensuring the carbon remains sequestered. This process also reduces ocean acidification, benefiting marine life. By removing excess CO2 from the air, the ocean absorbs less CO2, becoming less acidic. This innovative approach not only offsets emissions but also enhances marine ecosystems. In addition we can help shipping companies to reduce their future scope 3, by regenerating their value chain.

Travel Organization Engagement:

Touroperators can offset CO2 in destination countries by arranging for groups to visit local carbon farmers. These visits provide positive climate experiences, explaining why regenerative food is healthier, what biodiversity means, and why water retention is crucial. Additionally, travelers can taste local food, further connecting them with the region's culture and sustainable practices. Through purchase of nature based carbon removal credits of these specific farmers this informative experience for travelers also serves as a practical way to offset the trip's emissions. The approach enhances the travel experience while promoting sustainability and environmental awareness.
